About Us
Preserving and promoting Rwandan culture while empowering youth.
Our Story
Healing Through Culture
Indangamirwa Culture Group was founded in 2008 as part of Dukundane Family, an association formed by young survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
It was created as a platform for healing, unity, and empowerment through culture.
The Collective
The Indangamirwa Troupe
Founded in 2008 as part of the Dukundane Family—an association formed by young survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi—the Indangamirwa Troupe was born out of a profound need for healing. We are a passionate collective deeply devoted to ensuring that the richness of our history is never forgotten, using our heritage as a bridge toward reconciliation and empowerment.
Through the powerful mediums of traditional dance, commanding vocals, and the unmistakable beat of the ingoma, we tell stories that date back generations but hold urgent significance today. Every performance goes beyond mere entertainment; it is an act of historical preservation, unity, and resilience. For Indangamirwa, culture is the strongest thread tying our community together, weaving past lessons into the foundation of a brighter, shared future.
